Moo In a Mumu

Standard

A new take on the classic Pigs In a Blanket. As you know, Pigs In a Blanket are small (but bigger than cocktail size) sausages rolled in crescent roll dough and baked. Yum! An office favorite and sure to springboard your popularity when you arrive at work with a big, warm basket.

Here’s a party favorite for the kids. Easy to make and doesn’t fall apart like burgers or dogs. And the kids can use their dip of choice – ketchup, ranch, or my favorite honey mustard.

1 – 8 ounce tube crescent roll dough, I like the reduced fat dough

8 – frozen breaded cheese sticks

1 – small package deli sliced roast beef, also good with ham

Preheat the oven to 325.  Line a small cookie sheet with foil, shiny side down.  Separate the triangles of dough and place several thin slices of roast beef on each one. If you decide to slice your own roast beef it’s ok to use thicker slices but cut out the gristle or these will be hard to eat.  Put a frozen cheese stick on top of the roast beef and roll up the triangles – wide end to pointy end.  Place each crescent, seam side down, on the cookie sheet.  Bake the moos for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm to enjoy the ooey gooey cheese. If you have leftovers, store in the fridge. To reheat, wrap the moos in a wet paper towel and microwave on high for 1.5 minutes.
